We want to hear from farmers and other land managers in Exmoor National Park willing to show young trainees the skills and expertise they need to manage moorland.
Working with West Somerset Community College, we are helping to support training courses – especially practical on-the-moor workshops. We want to help young people learn directly from farmers, land management contractors, hedgelayers, ecologists, archaeologists and rangers.
Exmoor Moorland Landscape Partnership will also support 3 apprenticeship places for the right moorland host farms – and for 3 lucky students! We can provide £70 per week to help pay the trainee wages.
In addition to money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, this particular project is generously supported by European funding through Western Somerset Local Action (WSLA) and Leader for Torridge and North Devon (L4TND).
