The Exmoor Perambulation is Exmoor's longest one day walking event...
The moorland of Exmoor National Park is a tapestry of prehistoric remnant features, often very small-scale and subtle. This project will help people to appreciate the presence, origins and ongoing mystery of the shapes, barrows and stones in the landscape.
Summary
The aim of this Project is to encourage understanding of the history of Exmoor’s moorlands. Working closely with Exmoor National Park Authority’s Historic Environment Team and English Heritage, the Moorland Heritage Officer (with the support of the Moorland Education Officer) will organise and deliver field trips and events to encourage people from the target communities to experience Exmoor’s prehistory. A budget of £16,500 will help pay for educational resources.
