Reconnecting People with Moorland

This Programme, with a total budget of £178,075, will:

  • help people from surrounding communities to get to Exmoor’s moorland
  • encourage and support volunteers
  • support school visits and educational activities
  • help people with disabilities visit moorlands
  • help communities “downstream” understand why moorland is important to them
  • support voluntary conservation and survey work in the former Royal Forest
  • encourage understanding of the history of Exmoor’s moorlands and
  • record how moorland has changed over the centuries
