The Pinnacle Award is for young people aged 16-25 (individuals or groups) who live, work, or are studying in the Exmoor/Greater Exmoor area, and want to develop a business or project idea which is linked to agriculture – land-based, or relating to rural development. You could be eligible for an Award of up to £3,000.
Do you have an idea of something that could help to make you money, keep you in the area, or provide opportunities for employment in the area? Do you have an idea which helps to promote Exmoor as a place to work and earn a living?
The Exmoor Society is very keen to hear from you, and to try to support your idea – especially if it promotes the Exmoor brand in some way.
Closing date for applications for the first Award is 30 April 2012.
You don’t have to do this alone – you could enter as part of a group of friends or colleagues. The group size doesn’t matter, as long as you all fulfil the criteria above, and you have someone who is prepared to be named as group leader.
You don’t need lots of academic qualifications – but you do need to have a good idea, and to be able to present it briefly in an application form, and to a small panel of judges brought together by the Exmoor Society.
It doesn’t matter if you think your project will take a long time to complete – as long as you can demonstrate your good idea, and that you are making some progress towards achieving it.
The Award could pay for a portion or all the costs of your project – Award winners will receive payments in two instalments. The winner/s will also receive one year’s free membership of the Exmoor Society.
