Could you be a Moorkeeper?

Moorkeeper contract for the Minehead Area, Exmoor National Park.

Local moorland owners wish to contract the temporary services of a Moorkeeper for the Minehead area (North Hill, Bossington Hill, Grabbist Ridge, Alcombe Common, Hopcott). The Moorkeeper would assist landowners with management of moorland and help the community to appreciate this very special part of the Exmoor landscape.

Contract initially for 1 year with a budget of £6,000.

What could you offer in return for this budget? Do you have excellent practical skills and knowledge of moorland farming and stock management? How would you carry out the Minehead Moorkeeper contract in a way that fits seasonal changes in workload, and busy times such as the swaling season, lambing, peak visitor times, etc?

For an informal chat and more details please contact Dan Barnett on 01398 323665 or email: DJBarnett@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk

Submissions must be received no later than 12 noon, Monday 16 July 2012.
